Product Description

  • The invasion of France on the Normandy beaches by the allied forces on 'D-Day' 6th June 1944 marked the beginning of the liberation of Europe from German occupation, during World War II.
  • The display contains eleven coins. The ten coins issued and dated in 1944, namely: halfcrown, florin, English shilling, Scottish shilling, sixpence, threepence (all struck in 50% silver), brass threepence, penny, halfpenny, farthing plus a 1994 British 50p coin that was issued in 1994 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of D-Day Normandy Landings.
  • The 1944 coins are in Fine (or better) condition whilst the 50th anniversary coin is in uncirculated condition.
  • Our manufacturing process is a precision laser cutting method to create holes in which the coins can be inserted: thus holding securely in position without harming them.
